The Hike
The hike to Turtletown Falls is a moderate 1.5-mile round trip trek through the forest. The trail is well-marked and easy to follow, with a few steep sections that require some caution. Along the way, you will pass through groves of towering trees, cross small streams, and take in stunning views of the surrounding mountains. As you approach the falls, you will hear the sound of rushing water growing louder and louder. Finally, you will reach a wooden viewing platform that offers a spectacular view of the falls.
The Falls
Turtletown Falls is a stunning 50-foot waterfall that cascades down a rocky cliff face into a deep, crystal clear pool below. The water is cool and refreshing, making it the perfect spot for a quick dip on a hot summer day. The pool is also a popular spot for fishing, with rainbow and brown trout being the most common catches. If you are feeling adventurous, you can climb down to the base of the falls for an up-close view of the cascading water. Just be careful, as the rocks can be slippery and the current can be strong.
Getting There
Located just a short drive from the town of Copperhill, Tennessee, Turtletown Falls is easily accessible by car. From Copperhill, take Highway 64 east for approximately 7 miles. Turn right onto Turtletown Road and follow it for approximately 2 miles. You will see signs for the falls on your right.
